We have been on guided hunts before, and Brad said they were fun, but not much else. We
barely pulled off your road when Brad said "Dad, thanks for taking me on this hunt, I
really appreciate it". No amount of birds could ever equal success for me as much as those
words. He also thought you were the coolest guy he has ever met. Brad could not stop
talking about how hard you worked to get us on birds. He puts alot of decoys out himself so
he knows the extra mile you went by consistently changing spots, or rerigging the decoys to
get more birds despite the tough conditions.... Have a great season, and realize every time
you see a harlequin is how often we think about them too!"

"Most incredible bird hunting I have ever done. Unbelievable experience. All the different species that you just don't see normally inland: Harlequins, Oldsquaw, Common Goldeneye, Barrow's Goldeneye, Surf Scoters,White Wing Scoters, RB Mergansers, Buffleheads, I can't even remember the rest... I was so captivated just watching these strange ducks fly, I forgot I was hunting till my buddy said "Take em!" on the first bird to come within range.
Talk about challenging shooting! Try to cross shoot a bufflehead going 50 mph at 25 yards from a boat in 3-4 foot ocean swells and 20 knot winds! I can't wait for the sporting clays course designers to come up with one to simulate this!
You want meat hunting? Some of those Scoters are the size of a lesser Canada and have armor like tank. Hit em' hard, or forget it.
You want calling? Forget it. Leave the calls on shore. This guy had a decoy set up like you wouldn't believe. All hand painted custom dekes, but the unique thing was it was set-up on a long line system like a halibut fish boat. The boat was super tech. Fast, custom, modern and build to handle the worst seas. I am a finger nail biting control freak and I felt safe in the worst of it.
All I can say is I am going again next year."

With your professionalism as a guide and your well kept and organized boat we were
able to collect five birds apiece for our taxidermy collections. Trophy hunting for
prime birds is something that I really enjoyed. I can't imagine passing up around
1000 birds in three days to find the fine specimens we collected. If we wanted a
"meat" shoot everyday, we could have easily had it. Your knowledge of birds as they're
flying and picking out good drakes was as impressive as it gets. If that's not enough
in a guide, you are a great person to spend time together with on the water... "
